You think, "Ok...just one, just a small one." Next thing you know, you have a 55 gallon aquarium up in the playroom, a small 2.5 "for the babies"sitting by the bed, and the 70 gallon down in the basement is calling my name. "Traaacy, come on...set me up again. You know you want to...remember how good it used to be?"

I got a couple of angelfish from a lady at work, :"for free." Thank you, Rhonda, for feeding my habit.Thank for for waking the beast. She started out by giving me some guppies. "Just try it," she said. "It will be fun." I told her I had aquariums before, but once we built our new house and moved 3 years ago, I vowed to never set another one up again. How easy it was to fall.....:0D

I'm really loving this new workout, Chalean Extreme.
My Last First Time

I took off work today, and spent the day at the zoo with my daughter. She is in kindergarten, and it was her very first field trip. I had so much fun, but it was a little sad, because I know how quickly she will grow up, and before I know it, she'll be out the door. I said this was my last first time, because my other "little ones" are 21 and 17, and this is my last baby (unless we get another late in life surprise!), so this was the last time I will get to go on a first field trip with my child. :0)

The kids were so excited this morning, it was funny. The teacher was attempting to keep them in their seats and on task until the bus came. One little guy hopped up and said, "Mrs. Webb! Mrs. Webb!! We are going to the ZOOOO!!!"

Then another one goes, "Mrs Webb, Mrs Webb...the zoo is in Nashville! I know that! I know the zoo is in Nashville!!"

They were cracking me up....

Linky Loo to the Nashville Zoo:

nashvillezoo.org/visitor_map.asp

Gosh, I used to post here all the time! I usually check in with body for life tracker, and a quick post on facebook. I kept a diary faithfully for years, then started LJ, but can't believe how I have neglected my ramblings! Bad me, boo!!!
I need to try and do better. I enjoy writing, but it is so easy to neglect for other random stuff....
Anyway, another one of those stupid, stupid survey thingies:

named after anyone?
middle name, named after Annette Funnichello (sp). Daddy liked her big bazoombas.

2. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?
Cryin' Is for Pussies.

3. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING

Gosh, No! lol....

4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCH MEAT?

shaved mesquite turkey from the deli

5. DO YOU HAVE KIDS?

I don't keep baby goats, but I do have three lovely children!

6. IF YOU WERE ANOTHER PERSON WOULD YOU BE FRIENDS WITH YOU?
If I saw me coming, I would turn and run for my life in the opposite direction!

7. DO YOU USE SARCASM?

Never.

8. Do you still have your tonsils?
Yes, and also the tonsils of several other people. I won them on Ebay. I will bid on anything on that site if the price is right!

9. WOULD YOU BUNGEE JUMP?

Would I have to depend on Hippie Stoners to calculate the stretch in the particular cord x the length of the fall, factoring in things like my weight, the trajectory of my jump outwards, plus throw in things like wind speed and how many times that cord has been stretched already? Then...no. Looks like fun though!

10. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CEREAL?

Lucky Charms (they're magically delicious)

11. DO YOU UNTIE YOUR SHOES WHEN YOU TAKE THEM OFF?

All my shoes are velcro. My secret shame is that I never learned to tie. DO YOU THINK YOU ARE STRONG?

I am "Strong Like Bull!"

13. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ICE CREAM

Ice cream hurts my insides and gives me raging diarrhea, but I still love the occasional caramel sundae from dairy queen. WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE?

Whether or not I "have them fooled."

15. WHAT IS THE LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOURSELF?

My inability to tie shoes. WHAT COLOR PANTS AND SHOES ARE YOU WEARING?

What the hell are all these questions about shoes?? WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW?

The inner working of my feeble brain, also, the tap tap of my fingers on the keyboard.

22. IF YOU WERE A CRAYON, WHAT COLOR WOULD YOU BE?

I would be the broken and crushed one, dropped in the driveway, slowly melting in the summer sun.

23. I am starting to get pissed.....

25. DO YOU LIKE THE PERSON WHO SENT THIS TO YOU?

YES!!

26. SCARY MOVIES OR HAPPY ENDINGS?
I like scary movies. For a Happy Ending, you need to visit the massage place over on Interstate Drive, right off I-40.

32. LAST MOVIE YOU WATCHED?

"Without The King" a doc about the monarchy in Swaziland. What book are you currently reading?
I am reading through a stack of Ladies' Home Journals from 1922, 1936, 1942, 1945-46 that I won on Ebay. So so so so cool!!! Love the clothes, the recipes, the advertisements! The back cover of the 1942 December LHJ has Santa in an army cap, with his sack overflowing with cartons of Chesterfields for Christmas gifts!!

40. Belly button and nips, but the nips and navel have closed for business. May re-pierce them someday....

Tatoos: None

Boyfriend/Girlfriend: want me to list them? I had a few back in "the day."

Overused Phraze: "Back in the day" :0D

FAVORITES

Food: yes.I do eat food. Chinese buffets are awesome! I get on "food jags" where I am perfectly happy to eat the same thing for weeks at a time. Like, I will eat a turkey and swiss on WW bread from Great Harvest bread store every day for lunch for a month, or a cup of shredded lettuce, 2 slices of shaved turkey, pulled into pieces, 1/4 cup of fat free croutons, 2 tablespoons of cheese crumbles and a tablespoon of catalina dressing. every day, for weeks. :0D I have issues with food...

Candy: sweet tarts, pixie stix, sour patch kids, butterfinger, baby ruth, and for a treat, I LOVE See's chocolates! I mail order them from California on occasion. I also LOVE fizzy fruit tingles and violet crumbles (you can order them from online aussie food catalogs). I also like those real liquor filled Fizer chocolates. I found an online source for those chocolates! fizer liquor fills....yummmm

Rock Band: I prefer Guitar Hero. :0)

Actor/Actress: Actress: Li Gong (AKS Gong Li):http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000084/ I love everything I've ever seen her in! Raise the Red Lantern, Memoirs of a Geisha, Curse of the Golden flower, etc etc...

Beautiful and wonderful actress!!! Actor....Well, Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt are beautiful. I think Robert Duvall is an amazing actor. Try watching him in "Tender Mercies" if you want to watch an amazing actor at work. He's just so so so so good in that film, and just about anything I've seen him in. Try the first Lonesome Dove miniseries also to see him inhabit a role! http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000380/

Number: A mom and a daddy/had a little baby/that makes threeee/in the family! (from Sesame Street)Good song, great number. However, I like all numbers equally.

Color: Green

Animal: Well, the family loves our three dogs and our amazing slothful, clawless indoor cat. To me, that is just more poo to pick up, and more mouths to feed, more things needing my attention. I should have been a hermit in a cave, or a wandering gypsy. Alone, alone, alone.....*sigh*

Drink: ice cold water, but do love one of those tiny 100 calorie cans of coke or sprite on my free day (Sunday).

Alcohol Drink: don't drink anymore, but back in the day, it was bacardi 151 with dr pepper, mountain dew or coke. 151 got me the drunkest, the quickest, which was my goal! Woo-Hoo!!!

Bagel: Asiago Cheese bagel, or blueberry bagel (anti-oxidant!). gotta have some good carbs after a workout. 1/2 a bagel only, and it has to be plain. If I absolutely am worthless and weak, I will put 1 TEASPOON of strawberry cream cheese on the bagel.

Letter: I like the lowercase Russian letter "t" because it looks like an "m" except with a line over the top.

Body Part on Opposite sex: the lips, tongue and fingers if they know what they are doing. Also, the penis. It's important that it works. If it doesn't, they had better be REALLY good with the other parts I named.

This or That

Pepsi or Coke: Coke. Have to stay away, or I will binge on it. One coke a week.

McDonalds or BurgerKing: McD's has a grilled snack wrap that isn't bad if you don't get the mayo one. get the one with honey mustard instead. and just one. not two. eat slow, tiny bites. :0)

Strawberry or Watermelon: watermelon tastes like sour water to me. We grow tons of the nasty things. We also grow strawberries, which I love, but they make me break out in spots if I eat many of them. LOVE them fresh from the garden, though!

Hot tea or Ice tea: neither.I cannot abide tea. I hate tea and watermelon. Am I really from the south?

Chocolate or Vanilla: chocolate gravy over biscuits or pancakes. Another free day treat!

Hot Chocolate or Coffee: hot cocoa with marshmallows. coffee with 2 sugars is also good sometimes.

Kiss or Hug: kugs and hisses.

Dog or Cat: I will sell you the entire kit and kaboodle....name your price. :0)

Rap or Punk: Eminem was good in that movie 8 mile. It was sort of rap? and blondie is good in that old rapper's delight song. I like the Ramones, which was sort of the beginning of punk. The late 70's The Clash-London Calling, Should I stay or Should I Go,Rock the Casbah. The Sex Pistols-Anarchy in the UK. wanna see the first time they were on tv? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8szRgIcYlY&feature=related

Summer or Winter: Summertime, and the livin' is easy! I am a lizard, and I need the sun!!!

Scary Movies or Funny Movies: both/either, according to my mood. Usually needs to be obscure with subtitles to hold my interest. I also like dumb, stupid guy movies, like that movie about the cute pregnant blonde chick with the pot smoking boyfriend? and the stupid sports spoof movies, like dodgeball. "If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball!"

Love or Money: That's a tough one. If I had enough money, I wouldn't need love. Again with my "alone traveling the world" hermit theme. I like love, but always, always f*ck it up. Every.Single. Time. They like me at first, but always, always, always it ends. Then when they get tired of my sh*t and go away, I try to lure them back, then I push them away again. it's a pretty damn sad game I play! I wish no man would love me, because then I wouldn't have to worry about living up to expectations, or screwing up someone for life....lol. I am a really good mom, though. I am trying to put my own children in a happier place than I have ever been! I want them to be self-confident creatures, out in the world able to have normal human emotions and relationships! My children are loving, happy, healthy, giving people, who seem to genuinely care for other people, and they are funny and sweet, and smart, too!

YOUR...

Bedtime: around 1030, then up at 5 am to work out 6x a week!

Most Missed Memory: my childhood. I don't remember hardly anything before the age of 14 or so. I kind of remember things when other people do the, "hey remember when...." stuff. That is one reason I've always kept a diary, because my memories are like wispy clouds...I think it is a protective mechanism, lol....

Best physical feature: none. I am a constant work in progress. Some days I sort of like my legs at a certain angle! and people say my bum is nice.

First Thought Waking Up: Dammit! Then I think, "man I wish I had that lasik done, so I could see the freaking alarm clock." then I usually think, "where are my glasses? has the cat knocked them down again??" Then I remember they are over by my clock, so have to reach my arm over further. THEN I get up, go pee, and go straight downstairs to work out. if there is no more water in the basement fridge, I have to climb back upstairs and get one, then back down again.

Goal for this year: For Jeanna to sell her house! my personal goal: more muscle, less f-a-t!

Best Friends: I hear good friends are hard to come by.

Weakness: kryptonite

Fears: love=dependence=vunerability=scary.

Heritage: the bottom of the gene pool!

Longest relationship: long does not = great. sometimes long only equals fear and co-dependency! I keep waiting for my Mister to toss me to the curb...

HAVE YOU...

Ever Drank: YES

Ever Smoked: YES

Pot: Should be legal, all I'm sayin. I would much rather deal with one of my clients on pot than alcohol...

Ever been Drunk: YES

Ever been beaten up: yes I have, on more than one occasion.it sucks, by the way.I got a big beat-down by a gang of girls in a school in Dalton Georgia in the 8th grade.

Ever beaten someone up: mentally, I have.

Ever Shoplifted: I talked other people into doing it, while innocent me reaped the benefit without the fear of being caught.

Ever Skinny Dipped: yes, rode home across town nude, too, on a dare. It was pretty funny! I put a shirt over my top half when we stopped at red lights. It was VERY late at night!

Ever Kissed Opposite sex: YES

Ever Kissed Same sex: yes

Been Dumped Lately: not today!

IN A GUY/GIRL?? Am I currently in a guy or girl? No, at the moment I am typing on the laptop.

Favorite Eye Color: two eyes are pretty good. Dark, brooding eyes are nice, beautiful blue ones, green ones, ones that look Intelligent are a plus.

Favorite Hair Color: brown or black

Short or Long: as long as it's not "business in the front, party in the back" I'm good.

Height: too tall intimidates me, I don't like it. anywhere from 5'5" to 5'10" is good for me.

Style: I have none. I need to be on that "what not to wear" show.

Looks or Personality: Nice looks are good, but I need a personality strong enough to not be psychologically shredded by tropical storm Tracy. Not many last too long around me.

Hot or Cute : Hot is hot, but it can fade pretty quickly. something to be said for a michael j fox kind of cute, and also for a tommy lee nasty sort of hotness.

Drugs and Alcohol: Umm, of course, just say no, right?

Muscular or Really Skinny:muscles...mmmmmmmm, muscles!I want a man bigger than I am! Too skinny just makes me want to FEED them, for goodness' sake! Hardbodies rock my body, although there is something to be said for Jeanna's "skinny guys have big things" theory.

RANDOMS

Number of Regrets in the Past: "regrets, I have a few/but then again, too few to mention..."

What country do you want to Visit: American Samoa, Belgium,Cambodia, China,French Polynesia, Egypt, Ireland, Italy, NORTH Korea (want to know what is really going on over there),Moldova,Marshall Islands, Morocco, Singapore, Russia...

How do you want to Die: I don't. I want to be young and healthy and vital for at least 300-400 years!

Been to the Mall Lately: Our mall is dead. Only jc penney and GNC remain. Getting ready to bulldoze it, rumor has it. We have a HUGE shopping center, though, taking the place of indoor type malls. Less chance to be randomly shot by a crazy when you are not trapped inside a giant gerbil maze/indoor mall.

Favorite store to shop at: Kohl's, Goodwill Superstore, Books a Million, but my favorite bookstore is the Book Cellar, a used bookstore about 30 miles away in Crossville. I love little independent stores, and love to explore downtown, off the beaten path places.

do you like thunderstorms? thunder, ok. Lightning and wind, not so much.

Get along with your Parents: no comment in this semi-public forum...

Health Freak: no?

Do you think your Attractive: your attractive what? do you mean you're attractive? I am a work in progress...

Believe in Yourself: isn't it obvious? LOL.....

Want to go to College: want to go back!

Do you Smoke: Not anymore. gave up cigs years ago. still love the smell of them, and the ritual of them, how you light a cigarette, how you hold it, wave it around, inhale, how the smoke wreaths back out of your mouth and nose.....

Do you Drink: not alcohol anymore.I loved it "back in the day," but only to get drunk.

Shower Daily: Eww, yes!

Been in Love: obsessive love/lust, several times.

Do you Sing: yes, but you don't want to hear it. I know the lyrics to a zillion random songs, but can't carry a tune, so my gift is worthless! unless we are playing "Name That Tune."

Want to get Married: I am already. (Sorry, Mark.) If he ever leaves me, I will never do this to another man!

Do you want more kids: I love being pregnant, and would be a surrogate if I wasn't older than dirt.

Age you lost your Virginity: I was barely 14, and he was in his 20's. Not a great experience....

Hate anyone: Too much energy to hate. I do bloom out with it on rare occasions, but can't sustain the feeling. I usually feel hurt more than hate, and once I feel someone has hurt me, any feeling I had for that person turns to indifference. Once I feel indifferent, it has never turned back into love. That little switch goes, "flip." The End!

July 2008 P90X ramble....

P90X Bring It! Thursday
Did you "bring it" today? Do you always? For the first few weeks, I wasn't even sure what the H was going on, no idea really what "it" was, much less how to bring it! I was too busy trying not to trip, fall, hit myself in the face while flailing around during kenpo....etc.

Then some days,I know I half-a$$ed brought it, just sort of showing up for the party but sitting alone in the corner.

Most days though, once I got more sure of myself, I just went for it,and ended up in a giant puddle of sweat by the end. I always feel SO GOOD when I give 100% to my workouts, so why don't I always do that?

That's another thing I'm gonna work on next round.

One thing about actually completing 13 weeks is I can see all the places I need to improve my performance in order to improve myself!

The good part is that now I'm more familiar with the workouts, that learning what they heck everybody is doing is over with, so next round I can just strive toward being able to actually do what they do!

Today was stretch for me, bleh. Sort of like gentle yoga in disguise. Another goal for next time, try my best to RELAX, breathe, try to become more bendy and stretchy and stuff.I need to be more patient with yoga and stretch days, I know, but I just want to jump and move and lift stuff!!

I have core again tomorrow, which is ok, then I finish with YOGA from hell on Saturday.

Have a good one, as always! -Tracy

The bfl tracker site had one of those, "tell me about yourself" threads today, so figured I'd cut and paste my response from there over here. Why? Because I'm too lazy today to think of any more original words for my jounal! :0)

from tracker:

Hi,my name is Tracy ("Hi, Tracy!") I've been on tracker for about a year now, and I'm so glad I found you all! About me....I am old, which stinks, but I'm not dead, which is cool.

I always thought I'd live the life of a boho gypsy traveler, but that didn't happen. Instead I ended up married x2 with kids x3, but inside my head I'm still a wanderer.

Growing up, we moved about 27 different times, so think that is probably what lead to me feeling like an unmoored ship.

I LOVE to read, and also love to write, although I'm not a talented writer. The closest I get to world travel is my Netflix subscription. I like to watch foreign flix from all over the world....

I post random stuff to livejournal and a lot of photos to webshots. (sorry, no porno pix, like I said, I'm old)...

http://www.livejournal.com/users/daisymae1/ My Webshots: http://community.webshots.com/user/daisymae_66

After my divorce, I went back to school, spent 3 years toward my Registered Nursing degree, but freaked out Senior year and changed my major to Sociology.Graduated from Tennessee Tech University in 2000. Now I work as a program specialist for TN State Government. What a strange fit that is, let me tell ya!

I spend 10 weeks training new employees in food stamp, medicaid and families first policy in a classroom setting, then send them out into the world. I cover 23 counties in the district. I still can't believe they trust me to mold the minds of these people.....

Well, that's more than enough about me! -Tracy

Independence Day & Fireworks Laws
Here in Tennessee, fireworks sales are permitted from June 20-July 5, and again December 10-January 2nd. We have new neighbors who just moved here from Ohio, and I think they moved here just so they can shoot fireworks, because every stinking night for the past week it's been, BOOM/BOOM/BOOM!!!!! It's like years of pent-up longing have finally been realized for these folks, LOL....

ANY sort of fireworks, as long as they pass inspection, are legal to sell.

Up until last year when they upped the age, the minimum age to purchase fireworks was age TEN! So it is always a scary time of year around here, a bunch of little bitty kids running amok with dangerous explosives.

This year, they upped the age to 16, a much more responsible and level-headed group of folks.... riiiight.

The funniest thing is that every time those guys fired off another bottle rocket, or roman candle or whatever, I hear the boom followed by, "Wheeee-Haw!" Or sometimes, "YEAH!!!!" or "Woooh, yeah!!!" "Didja see that one???"

It's all fun and games until someone loses a finger!

So if any of you are passing through our beautiful state this time of year, keep your windows rolled up and if you are out walking around after sunset, be prepared to duck and cover! -Tracy

The internet circa 1993. Amazing how things have changed in such a short amount of time! This is about 6 minutes long, but I think it's interesting. Just me warning that it is six WHOLE minutes long is funny to me, just goes to show how short attention spans have become.

An example: I love to read, and used to sit and read for hours. I still do that sometimes, but now I keep getting on the 'net to look up stuff about what I'm reading. Right now, I am reading "Aquariums of Pyongyang-ten years in the North Korean Gulag." by Kang Chol-Hwan.

Sooo.....I went to look up stuff about North Korea, then I found North Korea's offical government "welcoming" website. You can even buy souvenirs! About an hour later, I went back to my book.

Same thing if I'm watching some Netflix movie (which I order from an online site instead of going to the local Blockbuster). Whenever I watch a movie, I log onto IMDb, to read about it. Or if I'm watching a reality show, I log onto survivor sucks, for example to see what everyone else is thinking about the show.

It is both sad to me and amazing how everything has changed. And it's all the fault of Al Gore and his damn "internet" invention !! lol.... ;0)

Anyway, if you have six minutes and some odd seconds to spare, here ya go:

<lj-embed id="7" />

Brawny Man or crazed killer?

Wow. "Brawny Man," indeed! This was an actual ad campaign for brawny paper towels. This is the ORIGINAL brawny man series of ads, before the new, purposely campy ones. An online survey asked women what they wanted in a man, and based on the answers, created....this guy. I have laughed until I about peed myself. I'm also more than a little creeped-out. Wait until you see the "falcon." It looks like one of those creepy stuffed birds in the movie, "psycho." You can youtube search brawny man if you want to see the rest of the freaky series.

My brother came over after he got off work and told me about these "unique" brawny man ads, so we sat and watched all 12 of the ones that "cookiee455" had posted on youtube.

Yep, me and my baby brother, hanging out on a Friday night, watching paper towel commercials and just laughing and laughing.....

Bet ya'll can't top that for the funnest way to spend a Friday night!!

"Mi Vida Loca" is a little too hard-core for some, but that's just how I roll.

ttp://www.youtube.com/v/l6k_EgQ7koQ&hl=en"></param><lj-embed id="5" />

and just one more....this one is the creepiest one, I think. I keep waiting for the camera angle to swing around and we will see a hostage, desperate to find a way to escape. This could seriously be a promo for a serial killer movie:

<lj-embed id="6" />

...spent the day at the Nashville zoo today and had a good time, even though it was hot hot hot. But knowing TN weather, as the summer goes on it will only get more hot and humid, so this was a pretty good day to go, high around 85 or so today.

Check out the photos if you want to see an elephant painting, a cute baby camel and a few random shots of me tossed in the mix.

Tomorrow begins week 9 of P90X. I will try to take and post updated photos soon. Trying to take them every few weeks to monitor any progress I make. This program is the most difficult one I have ever done, but I really do enjoy it!

<lj-embed id="4" />

Nashville Zoo June 15, 2008

On the BFL tracker site, we were sharing various life stories. Here is one of mine:

December 25, 2002 I was pregnant with my third child (due in 10 weeks). We had a big Christmas dinner at my grandmother's house, and later that night I woke up with a weird, stiff feeling in my back. At first I thought I had just had too much Christmas dinner, but then I started having crampy stabbing pain in my back and sides, my hands went numb, and I knew something strange was happening.

Anyhoo....we went to the ER and I was admitted. I wasn't too worried until the nurs came in and dimmed the lights in my room and then started wrapping the bed rails!

I reckon my BP was sky-high and they were afraid I was going to go into seizures.

My hubby came in the room and said "OK, YOU NEED TO GET CALM AND STAY CALM!!" lol...Now, he used to be in the Marine Corps, so I think this came out a bit more barky than he intended. It did make me laugh, though. It was like, "Stay CALM and that is an ORDER!!!" Bless his heart....

Turns out I had something called HELLP syndrome.HELLP is an abbreviation for:

* Hemolytic anemia * Elevated Liver enzymes and * Low Platelet count

Later Mark told me that he asked them how I was on a scale of 1-10, and the nurse told him I was an 8 or 9 on the serious scale, so that is when he came in and ordered me to calm down. I was actually really calm, just numb with pain. I was hurting so much I think I just shut down, because I remember I just kept telling myself to breath in/breath out to just think of my breath and nothing else.

My liver was shutting down, and so were my kidneys and the only "cure" for HELLP is to deliver the baby. Absolutely no other option. Either deliver her, or we would both be gone.

They took me to the ER right away, no time to think, to do anything. They gave me a spinal, and out came this teeny tiny little squirt. The doc pulled her out, and the very first thing she did was pee on the doctor, then we all heard this itty bitty, very angry sounding 'EEEEEE!"

Katie was born at 30 weeks, and she only weighed 3 pounds and was 16" long. She was in the hospital for only 15 days, and that was mainly just to tube feed her because she used as much energy sucking as she was getting in, because she was so small.

She never had to have oxygen, only the warming lights. She looked like a little skinned squirrel, or like one of those hairless cats, or sort of like a turtle, with the big head and scrawny little neck.

The doctor said it was like someone knew she was going to make an early appearance because somehow her lungs were ready for the outside world at 30 weeks.

If you have gone to my profile and clicked the link to my webshots, you've probably seen photos of Katie, my crunchy little tater tot. Today she is a blonde haired, blue eyed beauty!

-The End :0D

She has just brought her 15 yr home from the hospital after her latest battle with cancer. The doctors can't do anything else for her, and they say she only has a few days left.
I love my children so much, and can not imagine the pain Denise is feeling right now for her daughter Jonnae. most parents are hard-wired to want to fix everything and try to protect their children from hurt, but this is something she cannot fix.

I just completed week 4 of P90X. It is kicking my butt, but I needed it! I have been working out for about a year now, and it was time to change things up a little.

I started out with BFL (body for life) and did 2 12-weeks of that program, then I switched to BFFM (burn the fat, feed the muscle).

I'm on week 4 of P90X, and it is the hardest, most intense workout I've ever tried to do! I love the weight lifting days, and am starting to enjoy the heck out of the Kenpo.

The yoga days are torture for me. I am not the least bit bendy, or graceful, or balanced or coordinated, so it is a pretty funny, frustrating, painful hour for me to try and get through it.

The good news: I started out at 140 pounds, and am down to 126 (6 more to go!)...
On day one, I could only do one regular push-up (could do about 15 girlie/knee ones). As of yesterday, I can now do 3 sets of 10 regular push-ups.

My next goal is to be able to do pull-ups instead of just pull-downs on the lat bar. I wanna be able to do chin-ups/pull-ups, but it's going to take a while for me to get strong enough.

Anyhoo, here are the latest photos:

by daisymae_66

I had a wonderful walk with my baby girl and our goofy dog, Miss Molly. The ironing and my workout had to wait for a bit.

Tomorrow will be the beginning of week three for my P90X workouts. Two weeks ago I could only do ONE lousy push-up, even though I've been working out for a year. Yesterday, I did TEN! Woot for me! I can do 15 girlie push-ups, but could never do regular ones.

Ok, so here are the pics from my yard earlier today:

by daisymae_66

Ok, we all need to rush out and buy this book (only available online). It's called, "My beautiful mommy," and it's about a mom getting a nose job and tummy tuck!
It's told from the perspective of the mommy's pre-school child. On one page, mommy is describing her "before" and "after" nose, and the little girl has a thought bubble over her head picturing mommy as a witch, then as a beautiful princess after the surgery.
Another page shows mommy with a "muffin top" hanging over her pants, but after the surgery, *poof*, perfect!

LOL......I was horrified when I first heard about the book, but now I just think it's funny. I can imagine all these rich soccer moms rushing online to buy a copy to have their nannies' read it to their charges, to explain why their mommy is high on pain pills and swathed in bandages. :0)

I can see the author's next book, "Mommie's Dolls are not Your Dolls: A book about Mommie's Happy Pills"

ps-"dolls" is cheesy slang for pills, from an old movie called, "Valley of the Dolls," but I bet you already knew that. :0)

I've been working out for about a year now. I started with BFL (body for life-book by Bill Phillips). Then, I moved to the "burn the fat feed the muscle" program for a while.
When I was out of town a couple of weeks ago, I was up late in my hotel room watching tv,and a commercial for P90X came on.

Well, it sucked me in, and I bought it. :0)
Holy Moly! Dang, this is the hardest program I have ever tried!!! I am walking around with DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) for the first time in a while. I am in a brand new love/hate relationship with P90X.
Day one I did my chest and shoulders, day two was a thing of evil called "plyometrics," and last night I did my biceps and triceps.

Tonight is yoga, which I have never done before, so it should be.......fun? :0)
Hopefully in 90 days I will have more definition than I do now.

I have been working so hard the last month, trying to get in shape by summer. I've gone from 140 pounds to 126, lost in inch in my hips and 2 inches in my waist, so yeah me!

I am going to take photos this weekend to post, then try to post new ones about every 3 weeks until the end of the 90 days (guess that's where the 90 in p90x comes from).

Social Work Convention TCSW

Last week, I was able to attend the TCSw convention in Nashville. They put us up in Loew's Vanderbilt Hotel, which was such a nice place! I work for the state government, and they usually put us up in places like motel 6, but since the conference was at lowe's they let us stay there. :0)

It was a WHOLE other world than I'm used to, and it was strange to have s social work conference in such a swanky place. For example, one of the seminars I attended was about homelessness, and there were three homeless folks there telling their story of how they came to be homeless, what it was like to live on the streets, and how it feels to be an "invisible" person, because most "regular" people just look through them, ignore them, or tell them to "get a job."

Another seminar talked about the Magdaline house (Thistle farms) in Nashville. It's a program for ex crack addicts and prostitutes. They make and sell bath and body products to earn money and to keep the thistle farms going.

http://www.thistlefarms.org/

So anyway, I'm attending all these kinds of seminars, and the hotel itself has things like five dollar water. I bought one bottle of Fiji water, I think it was called, and just refilled it all week from the water fountains. I felt sort of bad carrying around such expensive water at a social worker convention, though, and kept cramming the bottle in my bag to hide the label, lol...
Also, if you order HALF a grapefruit and a bowl of oatmeal, it is EIGHTEEN dollars! No drink, no bacon or anything, just oatmeal and half a grapefruit. Just crazy......

Nashville was nice to visit, though. I got to go by the Frist center, and right now they have an exhibition through June, Monet to Dali. I love Monet, but never got to see an actual painting. It was SO beautiful, and I could have stayed there all day. I loved it so much that I just wanted to pull the paintings from the walls, throw them in a big pile and wallow around in them, but I figured that would be frowned on, so I didn't. :0)

http://www.fristcenter.org/site/default.aspx
